Lovingly described as 'Star Trek on steroids', there's no other TV show quite like Lexx. Perhaps it's closest celluloid relative is Barbarella (starring Jane Fonda) which shares it's sexy and surreal sci-fi tone. Lexx is the tale of a group of likeable misfits who, whilst trying to escape punishment for their petty crimes, inadvertently steal the Lexx, a Manhattan-sized space ship and the most destructive weapon in the two universes. Armed with no tangible plan other than to find somewhere safe to live, our heroes bumble their way through scrapes and adventures and manage to blow up a few planets on the way! Sex is always high on the agenda for most of the characters and is often the motivating force that gets them into trouble. The Lexx universe is a colourful one populated with the most bizarre and nightmarish characters imaginable. Decapitated robots, cannibals, love slaves, ambiguously shaped 'cluster lizards', and a living-dead man as an object of romantic desire - Lexx has something for everyone!
